Eastern West Virginia Community & Technical College is accredited institution through the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Eastern provides affordable tuition, an application for financial aid, free admission application, convenient location and flexible scheduling.

Audition for Into the Woods at McCoy’s Grand

McCoy’s Grand Theatre is hosting an Audition for the upcoming performance of Into the Woods. Based on the TONY Award-winning book and score as both are enchanting and touching as the story follows a Baker and his wife who wish to have a child, Cinderella who wishes to attend the King’s Festival, and Jack who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse and meet many other storybook characters along the journey. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. Auditions for Into The Woods will be Friday, May 15th at 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm and Saturday, May 16th at 11:30 am until 1:30 pm at McCoy’s Grand Theater in Moorefield, WV. Cast will be comprised of adults and teenagers. If interested in auditioning, please bring a prepared piece. Those interested need to attend at least one of the auditions and bring a schedule that will outline conflict dates for over the summer. Production dates are scheduled for later this summer.  How Buying Local Enriches Communities

LAS VEGAS, Nev.-The North American Retail Hardware Association (NRHA) and Independent We Stand recently announced the findings of their “Home Sweet Home Study,” which examined the economic impact of supporting independent home improvement retailers as opposed to national home center chains. The study, conducted by economic analysis and strategic planning firm, Civic Economics, was released on May 6, 2015 at the National Hardware Show® in Las Vegas.

U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Women’s Business Ownership WOMEN’S BUSINESS CENTER (WBC) (INITIAL PHASE WBC GRANT) Fiscal Year 2015 Program Announcement No. OWBO-2015-01 Base Year Budget Period:September 30, 2015 – September 29, 2016 The purpose of this program announcement is to provide funding for up to six (6) non-profit organizations that are located within and will provide services to the population of Alaska, Illinois, Indiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Vermont, West Virginia, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands to start a new, community-based Women’s Business Center. Eligible applicants must be private, non-profit organizations with 501(c) tax exempt status from the U.S. Treasury/Internal Revenue Service. Public non-profit organizations and for-profit businesses are not eligible for these awards. Opening Date: April 20, 2015 Closing Date:June 18, 2015 Proposals responding to this program announcement must be posted to www.grants.gov by 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, June 18, 2015. No other methods of submission will be permitted. Proposals submitted after the stipulated deadline will be rejected without being evaluated.

for nominations for the May  Yard of the Month.  Yard of the Month nominations are taken May 1October 1.  Nominations must be in by the 15th of each month.
