The Hardy County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is pleased to announce a call for 2016 nominations for Business of the Year, Business Person of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year and 2016 Community Service Award. The highlight of the HCC Annual Meeting is honoring and celebrating the exceptional Chamber businesses and individuals that have made a difference in our community!  We are now accepting nominations through Friday February 12, 2016   for these awards that will be presented during the Hardy County Chamber Annual Meeting Wednesday, March 30, 2016. You may nominate yourself or another business or individual who you believe deserves consideration. Simply complete one copy of the form per nomination, paying attention to the following criteria:

Business of the Year  Awarded to a Hardy County Chamber business that maintains a major and stable presence in our community. Audition for Into the Woods at McCoy’s Grand

McCoy’s Grand Theatre is hosting an Audition for the upcoming performance of Into the Woods. Based on the TONY Award-winning book and score as both are enchanting and touching as the story follows a Baker and his wife who wish to have a child, Cinderella who wishes to attend the King’s Festival, and Jack who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse and meet many other storybook characters along the journey. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. Auditions for Into The Woods will be Friday, May 15th at 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm and Saturday, May 16th at 11:30 am until 1:30 pm at McCoy’s Grand Theater in Moorefield, WV. Cast will be comprised of adults and teenagers. If interested in auditioning, please bring a prepared piece. Those interested need to attend at least one of the auditions and bring a schedule that will outline conflict dates for over the summer. Production dates are scheduled for later this summer. It’s that time of year when the Moorefield High School Business Partnership goes out into the community asking local businesses for donations to be used for the After Prom Activity.  This Activity is hosted each year by the Partnership as an alternative for students who otherwise may be out drinking & driving.  Your donations will be used as door prizes or the purchase of door prizes to be given out for those students attending the After Prom Activity.

 

This year the After Prom will be held at the South Branch Potomac Lanes in Moorefield.
